When we shot #GymkhanaFIVE in San Francisco, we asked Jake to be the checkered flag man at the end of it. Why? Because both Thrasher and Jake were based in the Bay area and I wanted to represent both my personal roots in the skateboarding industry alongside skateboarding’s connection to S.F. somehow (in a discreet but cool way). Jake came out, hung for the day, and did his bit. I had known Jake for many years and respected his endless drive, passion and creativity for the sport I loved.
