It overlooks Clew Bay in Country Mayo, just outside one of my favorite Irish towns ever, Westport. (it's where hubs and I bought our wedding rings!)⁣ ⁣ This mountain honors Saint Patrick and it is said that he fasted on top of it for 40 days which sounds about right because I don't any places to get food up there.⁣ ⁣ Each year in July about 25,000 visit the rock and climb to the top. My Irish relatives said something about them being barefoot, but I'm not sure if they were making that part up or not.⁣ ⁣ In any case, it's definitely a picturesque stop if you're on the west coast of Ireland. ⁣ ⁣ There's also the Coffin Ship monument at its base replete with iron skeletons hanging in the rigging if you're looking for some Irish cheer.⁣ ⁣ Have you been to Ireland?
