1981年、エドウインのストーンウォッシュとパーフェクトなフィットが生まれ、アメリカ、ヨーロッパへ広がり、翌年日本でも発売となった。
現在までロングセラーを続けるインターナショナルベーシックシリーズの原点がここにある。
1981,EDWIN exhibits its Stone Wash jeans at Köln Messe in Germany. The natural used feeling using the ring spun denim and the slim cut of the denim with a great fit adopting a curved belt was accepted as a leading part of fashion globally. The denim went on to make its way around the world.
Stone wash became the standard technology for subsequent denim, and became a trend in various countries. As exports to Europe and the United States expanded, EDWIN also began to develop silhouettes tailored to people's bodies around the world.
With the launch of the "London Slim" using the Stone Wash processing in 1982 in the West, EDWIN gained support from artists and celebrities, and the brand name came to be known throughout the world.
