At first, Alexander Lervik had no idea what his candleholder would look like. All he knew was that he wanted the shadow cast by its form to be in the shape of a star. He experimented and eventually created Shadow. Light the candle held by Shadow and a distinct star is formed, as the candle burns its shape will grow bigger and bigger.
