The Forbidden City in the snow from Jingshan (Prospect Hill), Beijing’s highest spot, a 150 meter high vantage point constructed in the Ming Dynasty from the soil excavated from digging the moat around the Imperial Palace. I was lucky to catch this view at dawn, after a rare heavy snowstorm. A 40x60 print of this photograph was auctioned at The Nature Conservancy Gala this weekend for the benefit of TNC’s critical cause to preserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.
