A few years after her mother died, the South African photographer @lebohang_kganye reënacted her mother's old portraits, creating a set of spectral double exposures. Her project took her across the country, to relatives who had been uprooted by apartheid-era policies of forced removal. In the resultant series, “Ke Lefa Laka: Her-Story,” Kganye situates herself within a complex political history.
