Blaze of Glory🔥.
This was my first night in Sitka, Alaska. I had no idea what to expect in general, and certainly hadn't been forewarned about the insane sunsets.
I just happened to look out my hotel window and saw this - lucky timing. Sitka is a wonder to me. A small town in the northern reaches of the US territory, quietly being fabulous.
With rugged wilderness and waterways all around, you could easily visit just for the nature of it all. But this town is also packed with fascinating history from the Tlingit tribe and onion dome architecture leftover from when it was part of Russia.
Throw in delicious seafood restaurants and craft breweries to while away an afternoon visit with locals, and you can stay for days on end.
