The L-2B Blood Chit Battlewash Flight Jacket features a patch that U.S. military forces embroidered on their jackets known as a blood chit. In the event of having their plane shot down, the patch identified the soldiers as friendly and requested assistance in helping them return to the nearest Allied military post in a variety of different languages.
