#ArtBasel: Zao Wou-Ki's painting, "18.2.1963," is on view in our booth at Art Basel Hong Kong which is open through Sunday, March 31.

Wou-Ki's "18.02.63" was painted during his "Hurricane" period (1959–72), now considered to be the pinnacle of the artist's career. The movement of medium in "18.02.63" alludes to the dancing melodies of music and the calligraphic technique of Chinese painting, flickering into the wisps of clouds or peaks of mountains. Music and poetry were crucial touch points for Zao, which gave meaning to the spaces and silence within his abstract canvases.In
