But I figure it’s important for people to see reality. Yesterday this was my reality. I had an injection in my knee. It was really painful, but necessary. I want people to see both sides of sport because being an athlete is empowering and it can be incredibly rewarding but it’s also both physically and mentally brutal and at times unforgiving. With the inclusion of climbing in the 2020 Olympic Games as a three discipline combined event, athletes are now working harder than ever before. We’re pushing our limits, focussing our attention and testing our desire. And ultimately sometimes we break. The decision to have an injection was made after examinations, scans and discussion. I am very confident and happy with the team of people I have around me. I feel incredibly lucky to work with such experienced, passionate people to keep me fit, healthy and on the wall. My knee is structurally sound. I am very happy that I’ll be competing at the first World Cup of the season next weekend in Meiringen.」3月31日 2時26分
