The Supremes landed their first number one hit in 1964. With twelve number one hits, including “Baby Love” and “Where Did Our Love Go,” the Supremes became one of the most successful recording acts of all-time. Their recipe for success included their exquisite vocals, elegant fashion, and anthem-like songs with themes that ranged from explorations of love and heartbreak to social commentary. Mary Wilson donated the outfits in 1981.
