Women in the US lose a combined total of 900 billion each year because of the wage gap .
Women of color lose out the most
The common devaluing of women’s work hurts my heart and enrages me. The practice ( unconscious and conscious ) of unequal pay must end . .
Support the California Equal Pay Pledge .
By signing it , your business commits to :
*conduct an annual company-wide gender pay analysis *review hiring and promotion processes and procedures to reduce unconscious bias and structural barriers.
* identify and promote other best practices that will close the pay gap to ensure fundamental equity for all workers .

@marisatomei can we get Hollywood celebrities behind paid maternity leave? The USA is the only country in the developed world without it and furthermore, it contributes to the pay gap and to women being discriminated against (worse jobs, slower or no promotion) in the workplace? I know this doesn’t affect celebrities but we need their voices to make this heard!

Dear @marisatomei , when I watching your movies it will be the happiest time for me. I can not describe my feelings and I see the sincere feelings of you during representation, although people realize that it is just a role to play, but I believe that your feelings are sincere so I love you from the heart and wish you a successful life.

Women get paid les because they statistically work less overtime, are less likely to ask for a raise, and less likely to apply for a high paying job in favor for a more cushy job. Also, women in their 20s make more money than men. That’s I have to say.

Marisa Tomei has a networth of 20 million. How is that equal to what a teacher makes or a cashier? Would she be ok if we lived in a socialist country and you were TOLD what your profession will be and you will only be given a certain amount?

As much as I like Marisa, this has been debunked. Women work far less hours and far less dangerous jobs but the 72 cents on the dollar thing comes from everything mixed together and doesn't take those things into account
