@z_al and I came up with the Tree Internet sequence after being inspired by #PeterWohlleben ‘s book #thehiddenlifeoftrees . The trees had their own internet communication through fungal networks underground long before we humans built our world wide web.
Trees use these fungal networks to warn each other about drought, insects, or members of their forest community in need. Swipe to read more and to see the old oak tree in New Orleans that further inspired writing the actual scene. That grove of oaks prompted the idea to voice the trees through “10,000 genderless whispers.” Final image is a screen shot of actual scene in Final Draft 💻🌳
