In prep for #OneEgngn, the fabric of this egúngún masquerade dance costume was examined to determine if any textiles were replaced or added with newer materials that didn’t exist at the time of manufacture. #BKMConservation identified the fibers using Polarizing Light Microscopy, a contrast-enhancing technique used to investigate optical properties of samples.
