It's one month today since #AfterLife launched on Netflix. I've never had a reaction like it. It's not just the sheer number of people, but also the intensity of the response. It makes writing series 2 an absolute joy. Thanks again. (The dog will not die. I promise)

bethbaker123 I lost my brother, my best friend suddenly 2 years ago. I watched the entire first series of afterlife yesterday... wow! You captured perfectly how loosing him felt. The selfishness of grief that you are completely oblivious that anyone else is in pain because it’s so all consuming that you genuinely believe it’s only you that has ever felt that way. The days of thinking my heart was so broken that it would just stop beating. Then the thaw of a tiny part of your heart when the initial shock passes and you suddenly become aware again of the world around you and you realised that despite going to work feeding the kids paying the mortgage and doing all the day to day shit just how totally disengaged from the real world and real life you have become. The terrifying process of re-entering the real world ( or trying to!) the realisation that you do in fact have to “choose to be happy” and in doing so you don’t forget the one you’ve lost, quite the opposite! Thank you x
