Very sad to hear of the passing of Lloyd McDermott. An amazing human. Thinking of his family as they mourn his death and celebrate his life.

Lloyd McDermott was Australia's first Indigenous barrister, and the second Aboriginal person to represent the Wallabies. .
During South Africa's era of apartheid, McDermott made the decision to withdraw from the squad rather than play as an "honorary white" on a subsequent South African tour.

He founded the Lloyd McDermott Sports Foundation. The 'Lloydies' - the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team - provide opportunities to Indigenous Australian rugby players.

A man who lived his values and made us all richer for it.
