Tolkien . . . I told you I wouldn’t be able to resist an excursion in the wild wild woods this past weekend. On the way to this very spot, I found a piece of a wildflower that had been downtrodden on the trail and I couldn’t help but pick it up and give it a home in my journal so that its beauty and joyful essence would not be forgotten but treasured every time I open up these pages to write in. How often do we feel downtrodden and how wonderful it is when Love scoops us up and reminds us that we’re to be treasured too? My hope is that each of us experience that when we’re stuck in the mud on our own journeys. On a side note, I jumped into a creek, got my shoes and part of my jeans soaked and it was glorious.
