Born two decades ago, Francesca Amfitheatrof’s concept attracted instant notice. The jewelry designer wore her tag bracelets by the wristful, Karl Lagerfeld took a liking to them, and he enlisted her to make versions of them for Fendi’s Fall 1999 catwalk. Arguably, though, the concept is better suited to our social media age. Amfitheatrof recently launched an Instagram account for the new label and has been posting announcements about the tag bracelets’ impending debut: “Tag and be Tagged, Wear Your Story… and pass it on.” The marketing campaign pretty much creates itself.
