deblasiodean I think there should be a standard spec for tour players. I know the equipment companies will go nuts but we have to preserve the great courses. Being able to say in the future that this is the course Bobby Jones built that Hogan played, Arnie played, Jack played, Greg played and we can actually compare all players too! Would you make Wimbledon courts bigger for powerful serving due to bigger racquets? Let’s not mess too much with the courses when you can regulate the equipment and make it the same for everyone.

ernieharrell Mr. Norman you are spot on! Golf: R&A and the USGA need to roll the ball back. Every other sport has one ball or puck. They also need to reduce the size of Touring Professional Driver head size to sub 400cc.. To preserve many great golf courses.. Keep on them, sir. knightsbridgegolfschool Looks like a pretty good job done. They may hit it further now than ever but are the winning scores substantially better than in times gone by?. Difficult one to standardise an ‘event’ only ball perhaps due to power of manufacturers. I guess they have it in tennis! Brand for French, brand for Wimbledon etc. Who sorts that out?.....

kapsy_clicks I really don't see a problem with the ball being hit that long. The longer you hit, the more the chances of shot-dropping mistakes. I really don't understand the fuss. It's level playing field for all.
