Utterly heart broken. Sending so much love to The City of Lights. We recently took in the wonder and awesomeness of #notredame, we prayed and made wishes, we marveled and reflected, we time travelled and communed with spirits. Now we are all praying that future generations will be able to do the same. 💔 🇫🇷

@chucklambooy oh but you will it seems, with the amount of money forwarded by the rich men of France they will put her back together in no time (maybe not in the 5 years that Macron demands....he has no idea obviously of the little amount of skilled craftspeople there is for this kind of "job"..its not Dubai building for crying out loud) but with the news that the structure is mainly sound there is a chance. She is a symbol and the French have that kind of arrogance or pride, call it what you will, when they want it done they get it done ?

always interesting to see when celebrities like you choose to speak up. not a single word from you when 50+ muslims were brutally murdered in the New Zealand terrorist attack but when a building accidentally catches fire and pretty much survives the fire it’s suddenly “I’m so heartbroken” and “sending so much love” ..... I’m pretty sure muslims are used to feeling left out/feel like they matter less by now but it still bothers me that they don’t get the same attention and support

?What upsetting me the most is that the cathedral been there for over 700 years, went through so much history; including overliving the Italian Medici Family, the French/English war, inauguration of Napoleon becoming an Emperor, and yet, our generation couldn't keep it safe. What a shame!!!

Thanks Sarah it means a lot for us french people, this cathedral was called THE FOREST, because it took a thousand trees from XII century to build the roof. Trees from Charlemagne time. We lost today an inestimable monument, our hearts are bleeding, our eyes are crying. ???

@chucklambooy I was having a rethoric moment. I mean his grandmother played that organ ! My french granpa restored gargoils and so many other artefacts after the war on our churches of Rouen but playing a great organ in such a place is quite something too.

Of all the pictures posted, this one reminds me of my visit to Notre Dame. It was beautiful. I arrived in the late afternoon when I poked my head in before deciding to step inside - that's when I saw what looked like hundreds of lit candles ??????
