People always ask about age difference in siblings and finding that perfect number of years. They ask about having same sex siblings and sometimes seem sad when you are girl and didn’t have a sister or a boy and didn’t have a brother. Sam and I are 4 years a part. We were raised by two very young and very loving parents. We spent our days together taking turns playing every game we ever learned. We fought but only for a moment and then we couldn’t wait to play again. We shared a room for years and even when he got his own room I still had to knock on the wall at night just to hear him knock back. He was always my rock. My sweet sensitive little brother. We shared 1000 stories, 1000 heartbreaks, we told each other pretty much everything. To this day explosions go off inside of me when I see him again. I’m so f-ing grateful to God and my parents for bringing this incredibly beautiful soul Into this world when I was 4. And yes I know I cried that he wasn’t a sister, and I hogged the camera every time someone tried to take a picture of him, but I never felt more secure in anything as a child than knowing that I got to walk this life with him by my side.
