Hey y’all. So I am writing to say that I have decided to step away from competitive skating at this point in my life. I am so grateful for everything that skating has brought me and all the amazing opportunities that I have experienced through it. I am so thankful for all of the help that I have gotten along the way by all of the coaches, friends, and recovery people that I have worked with. I have met and made some incredible friends that I will keep for life. However, as much as I love it I know that there is way more to life than skating and I am excited to explore life beyond the ice.
As Bilbo Baggins says, “It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

scottydock Bilbo was swept away into both danger and glory, and faced it all with determination as it came at him, day by day.  At the end of the Hobbit, he is still the humble fellow he was at the beginning and unchanged by his adventures, albeit it wiser with a gentle understanding of others different than himself.  The lessons of skating, whether lonely hours on the ice or competitive moments witnessed by thousands, have given you an incredible work ethic and a backbone of duty--both which will brace you up for the adventures to come.  I will miss your performances, as your incredibly athletic jumps and spins were graced with both artistry and elegance.  Let the adventures begin.

calvindale59 Congratulations, Tim. What wonderful adventures lie ahead for you! I have enjoyed your beautiful competition skating for years, and while I will miss rooting for you every year at nationals, I know you will succeed at anything and everything you choose to do. Best wishes always and please keep us all updated often!
