Designer @MagdaButrym's eponymous five-year-old label has tapped into the retro romanticism that many young women have been craving. Her method of modernization lies in her appropriation of the 1980s and the decade's buoyant optimism, which didn't extend to her homeland of Warsaw, Poland. “In Warsaw, in the ’80s, there was nothing,” Butrym says. “In Poland, we don’t have a big history of fashion or style.
