Lest we forget.
Across Australia today, dawn commemorative services and marches take place in our cities and smaller regional towns to remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and sacrificed in the name of peace for their country, and those that continue to do so. One of our most important national occasions, it's a time to reflect on the many different meanings of war and honour the spirit of Anzac. Large crowds will gather at some of our most significant dawn services early this morning as the sun rises, including the National Ceremony held at the @awmemorial in @visitcanberra, and official state services at the @shrineofremembrance in @visitmelbourne (pictured here) and the Cenotaph in @sydney's Martin Place.
