Many of you have been following what happened with @vca Animal Hospitals on Monday. Basically, in a nutshell, one of VCA‘s employees, on Instagram, told us privately, and many of you publicly, that VCA stopped declawing a couple years ago. Unfortunately it’s not true. 😿 . @vca_canada stopped declawing last year but VCA Animal Hospitals in America still allows their vets to declaw cats. 😾 . VCA sent us a note explaining everything and told us why they haven’t stopped declawing, but we asked them to do a public post so that all of you could be informed about the facts. . So let’s hope we see a public post from VCA Animal Hospitals soon with a retraction, so that we can share it and get the facts out to all of you. . Let’s also hope that someday soon VCA America stops making excuses to keep allowing this barbaric and inhumane amputation procedure in their animal hospitals and they follow in VCA Canada’s footsteps.
