Small person in a big landscape? Is it a fad? Or is it just the reality of the situations you find yourself in when you experience the outdoors in this way? Grandiose... bigger than yourself.. full of wonder and awe. When I started shooting surfing it almost seemed as if I was doing these places an injustice to shoot them tight & compressed, not showing the natural arenas you get to experience these sports in. In many ways I felt my job was to add “a landscape to the subject” as oppose to adding a subject into my landscape.
