Winning the title of Miss Aloha Hula in 1980, Ka‘ula danced a mele (song) written by her kumu Hula, Johny Lum Ho that expressed the pride and grace of the peacock. These characteristics and the lessons that have come with being a dancer – including teamwork, respect for land and culture and a genuine aloha toward others are what she continues to share through her work as a Flight Attendant at Hawaiian Airlines.
