A 25 year dream realized…

Last Friday @kristine_tompkins and @tompkins_conservation concluded the largest private land donation in history by making the formal handover of Pumalín-Douglas Tompkins National Park and Patagonia National Park to the people and government of Chile. Over the last 25 years Tompkins Conservation created five new National Parks, expanded three others and helped to conserve more than 14.2 million acres of wilderness. Truly incredible and almost impossible to understand the scope and scale of what they have achieved. Suffice to say their work is a global model for conservation and beacon of hope for the world in protecting and preserving our remaining wild places. Thank you Kris and Doug for showing us the way forward and how a few committed people with a grand vision can change the world for the better. focusinflow It is so amazing to see the vastness of human heart’s generosity yet it is also sad to think that we have to resort to this to protect wildlife. Shouldn’t this be basic human instinct? May be it is, but we forget it somehow. Beautiful post though, so thank you Jimmy??❤️
