#TEFAF: TEFAF New York Spring opens tomorrow, May 3, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. Stop by booth 350 to see our special presentation of works by Roy Lichtenstein.

Lichtenstein's "Woman Reading," which will be featured in our booth, is an extraordinary example of the artist's playful reimagining of German Expressionism. Much like other examples from this body of work, "Woman Reading" sees Lichtenstein’s familiar Benday dots replaced with repeated diagonal stripes that draw the eye down along the woman’s body. These hatched, parallel lines emphasize the flat visual language that Lichtenstein was trying to achieve and echo the wood grain on the surface of Expressionist woodcuts.
