Quite often, one finds Weddell seals resting on the pebble beaches that surround the island. Seals come ashore to rest and digest food after long hours of fishing at sea. They are excellent divers and can reach 2000 feet in depth looking for fish, squid and invertebrates. In order to capture any kind of behavior, you have to be very patient and simply sit and wait, ready for when the action begins. It might last just a few seconds — the time it takes to yawn.
