Once upon a time the stoppers were square, with a strip of ribbon holding the stopper in place, allowing the owner to take the bottle with them on their travels with complete confidence that the lid would not fall off and cause the precious perfume to spill. This bottle was used until we received a visit from a rather special customer to our Wellington Street store. It just so happened to be one of William Penhaligon's decendants, who informed us that in William's time the stoppers were circular. So we stayed true to our founders designs and reverted to bottles with circular stoppers, and we haven't looked back since!」5月10日 19時00分
