tmurp1 Oh Sasha. I love you but you’ve gone off the rails. Gloria Steinem and Ashley Judd? Aim higher. You’re comparing buying a gun with killing a human being. I’m guessing you’re glad your mama didn’t abort you. What a shame that would have been! I a woman really wants to have control over her body she needs to not conceive a baby in the first place. It’s not really rocket science. Once the baby is conceived it is too late. Abortion is murder. Just because you can’t see the baby yet, it still is a human being.

jenna.1000words @sashacohennyc, I think @gloriasteinem oversimplified both issues, but she did create an interesting juxtaposition. And I think it’s a great conversation starter. I hope people will discuss these two issues in conjunction. (And at the risk of drawing fire, I say these things having been a gun owner and not supporting the abortion industry.)

abbs72889 With all do respect, getting a gun permit is waaaaaay more difficult than that. You have to fill out an application, be finger printed, take an eight hour course on gun safety, have two letters of recommendation and have a six month to one year waiting period. These two issues are entirely separate.

christiegirl11 This is a poor analogy. Owning a gun isn’t the same as an abortion. One literally takes a life. One is a tool for protection as is stated in the Bill of Rights.
