The BTNH POSTER WAS MY GRANDMOTHER’S! ❤️This is me and my mom on my first day of college. My mom drove me from Dallas to Lawrence, KS and drove the 8 hours back alone. She made sure I never missed out on life experiences for any reason- she made sure I had summers abroad, a great education and ethics. She never let me quit, she always expected the best of me, that my intentions and actions be “in the highest light” - she has stood back and allowed me to become the human I am today, never judging, always nurturing. She set an example for how I should treat other women, stand up to people and how to be kind and open minded. I am everything I am because of her and wouldn’t be even a fraction of the woman I am without her guidance. Mom, you are my moral compass, my heart, my pillow to cry on and the most graceful, down to earth, elegant, erudite (autodidactic too, wow you read a lot of books) creative woman I know and I’m so lucky we have this lifetime together. One isn’t enough. I’m so excited to celebrate your upcoming 70th birthday and many more to come. I love you, Mommy.
