if I were to tell you to say “hello” inside your mind, who is saying it?
And if the answer is you, then who is hearing it?
And if the word was never spoken out loud, was it ever really said or heard to begin with? Or was it witnessed?
You are witnessing your life right now, deeper than your preference of Friday’s to Monday’s or the contemplation over what you might have for lunch or dinner today. You are the you mentally reading this caption as you scroll through your feed on this very day within your life span. Look around, how much has gone unnoticed as you’ve placed your attention here?
Deeply seated beyond all the thoughts and distractions is your consciousness - the you that always is, will be and has been - silently witnessing the stream of events before you. Most times we forget to bear witness to our lives because we’re caught up in listening to what our mind has to say about it all. We tend to become lost in the intensity of our senses, emotions and judgements, but they are not you.
You are the witness as you read this just as you are the witness as you dream, fall in love, lose yourself in a song, or see something that moves you.
All it takes is a simple hello to break through the stream of awareness and find yourself in again
