To see some of the oldest trees in Nova Scotia, plan a hike along the Hemlocks and Hardwoods trail of Keji (short for Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site). There, you’ll see 300-year-old hemlocks as you move through places where Mi’kmaw have been living for millenia. Spend some time along the lakeshores of Keji to observe over 500 petroglyphs, some of the only remaining evidence of the ancient Mi’kmaw’s written history.
