@1eddie_allen for the sake of argument, let's put aside the woman's right to her own body, which is completely ludicrous since that's the whole point I'm making, but let's put that aside for now. You're saying that they're willing running the risk of pregnancy, and you also assume that they are not on one if not many methods of birth control, it's this idea that only those who request abortions are running around carefree without any form of birth control, it's asinine... you are also saying that you willing run the risk of dying if you're driving a car and therefore people involved in road trauma deserve no help because "they knew the risk" ... you have NO idea the circumstances or events that transpire to leave a woman with her only option of abortion. You honestly believe that it's not a harrowing experience for her, that it's as simple as going to the hairdresser. I can't even begin to imagine how you could rationalise denying this service to a woman who has been raped be it a stranger or incest. There are many other issues such as overpopulation and the insane levels of children living in orphanages or in foster care, but sure, let's be outraged instead for the welfare of unborn humans instead of those in need right now. You better believe that if child birth was biologically assigned to males, this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. It would be "just the way it is, it's our right" and that's the whole point. Women deserve the same rights and you want to deny it by your "won't someone think of the children" rhetoric

@1eddie_allen you're missing the fundamental point that I stated from the beginning and that is, no matter what your opinions are on abortion, it doesn't and never will trump the rights of the woman. It's that simple. You can argue all day about at what stage this and that happens, and you can continue to ask me about where my argument is for this and that. But I'm not now nor have I ever debated stages of development of a fetus, so you can continue to deflect and ignore the facts I've provided with "well, where's your argument for this?" as much as you want because I've clearly and factually addressed my point with clear examples that you have chosen to deliberately misinterpret to further press your own misinformed and quite frankly, archaic arguments that were not even addressed at the start to begin with. So I'll leave it at that because further discussion will not prove fruitful. Have a great day ?

@soapycub Just because I agree with what others say doesn't mean I quote them, when you say that a fetus is not a human it is a collection of cells (which we all are) doesn't mean you are quoting others because you can't think for yourself, which is what I assume you are implying. It does not take alot for a brain to process pain. A baby cannot feel skin wounds until about 19 weeks. An abortion literally rips apart the baby the main nerves are still there they just haven't developed all the way to the skin and outer muscles. Even small organisms with a handful of cells for a brain can feel pain. Everything I said is uncertain because there is no way to see evidence of pain in a baby who hasn't developed a strong enough musculoskeletal system to react, however everything that you quote from other scientists is uncertain too.

@soapycub I'm not saying that they are completely neglecting birth control, I am saying that partaking in intercourse runs the risk of conception and that if you are in a position where you cannot under any circumstances have a child, you should take more than just a pill or use more than just a condom. And rape and incest account for about 1% of abortions, and you are also implying that birth is harmful to a woman. I understand that birth is not an easy process, but neither is abortion. Having an abortion especially in the later stages is more harmful to the body than birth not to mention the awful hormonal imbalance that follows with pain and bleeding in the uterus that is ten times worse than a normal period.

@soapycub Just read it and I found it be ridiculous, abortion is not a woman stopping being pregnant, an abortion is directly killing the baby not taking it out of her and hoping it will live with life support, also there is no 100% contraceptive and people know that and willingly run the risk of pregnancy so a woman and man should use more than 1 contraceptive as a just in case. This paper implies that a baby is like an intruder that the mother had no way of stopping from coming in, also it never gave a argument against late term abortion.
1eddie_allen
@soapycub And that paper you told me to read never proved that a baby was not a separate being from the mother, it actually said the opposite, it said that the baby is a separate being and it's morally ok to terminate it because you are not killing the baby you are just taking away the thing that gives it life, the mother.
