This will be forever one of my fave sitting as you never get over your first perfect time. Way Bandy had the smallest makeup bag and beauty arsenal and yet was able to create enduring, timeless and most times iconic images with probably less than 8 products! Realizing that it was my first time having my makeup done professionally he turned me around, not facing the mirror as he proceeded to cast his spell. Like an alchemist he mixed products and powders and applied ever so gently on my skin. It felt like a feathery wand was being applied on my face…. then came the introduction of the most torturous equipment in beauty creation… the eyelash curler! Although till today I hate this instrument I have come to accept it as a very important (at least for me) necessary evil…… Oh, but what a result it creates! He turned me around to face the mirror and it was the reveal of all reveals! I looked like myself…. but so much better! Not in an artifice way but in a magical natural way. That is when I learned the magic of the perfect makeup. A couple of years ago his dear friend & famed hairdresser @maury.hopson surprised me with the most generous gift ever! Way Bandy’s original makeup up bag/box and I have promised him to keep it safe, sound & secure till I find the right place to honor it... beside my vanity table.
