This show is a little different from the others because we are skating at an event meant to bring awareness to mental health. I, personally, am so fortunate to live a life that brings me joy and fulfillment every day in one way or another. I have my own struggles just like everybody else, but have always had the ability to get through them in my own time. As we know, not everybody is that lucky. Tamara Lumley was a skater in Point Edward. She took her own life at the age of 17 in October 2018. This weekend we’ll skate for Tamara and so many others struggling with mental health publicly and in silence.
