Just five minutes with the news this morning reminded me how unimaginably horrible the world is right now, how terrible people are being cruel and hurtful to their fellow humans, simply because they can. Being reminded that I had the privilege of leaving all of that behind for eight or so hours, just to be joyful and lifted up makes me grateful and happy and helps me to remember that there is good in this world, there is joy in this world, that there is kindness in this world. We spent all day yesterday with two friends who we love so much (3000 if you're counting), who we haven't seen in two years. It wasn't just the childlike joy of finally being in that magical world that made yesterday so wonderful and memorable. It was spending that day with people we love, who love us back, and being surrounded by love and joy, that made the happiness that is exploding out of these pictures possible.
