So blessed to be teaming up with @thefoodcompany.co.nz as they launch the Gift of Time initiative. Once a month I will be giving 3 special individuals or families the Gift of time with a meal pack from The Food Company.
All you need to do is nominate that special someone in the comments below and describe to us why they deserve The Gift of Time.
On the last Wednesday of every month those selected will be personally announced on Dame Valerie Adams instagram page. ⭕️Please note nominees from anywhere in the North Island !
So don't hold back, lets start sharing the Gift of Time!💚

Kia Ora & Malo e lelei Valerie. I would love to nominate my sister. Everyone has a story, and hers involves coming to live with us for 3 months and look after us while we tried to learn to cope with the loss of our teenage daughter. She is also now bringing up her 2 youngest on her own along with 2 moko's who are chronic brittle asthmatics. She continues to be a huge support in our lives as well as having room for everyone - whether it's at the table, for the night, or longer. With 3 schools, kindy, plus all the other activities and often sick children the meals would go a long way, and help her maybe have a little down time. We all know how precious time really is. xXx

I'd like to nominate my sister @my5avengers. IDK how she does it but she is a single super mum of 5 who somehow manages to get her kids to 4 different schools across Auckland, gets them to their individual sports trainings in the evenings, attends their games in the weekends and occasionally drives cross-country to take her kids and sometimes their friends to their Waka Ama nationals/invitationals. One finds it difficult to fathom how she finds the time to do this let alone finds time to cook ?....Plus I think this Gift of Time would be a better & healthier (not that I'm one to talk ?) option than getting takeout.....for da gits ??.

I want to nominate my friend Kate. She has 4 children all with different needs some more difficult than any of us have to deal with. She lives far away from any family. Often travels 4 hours to auckland for hospital appointments and surgerys for her kids. She is so amazing and offers up her time to the community and many families around her. She has the hugest heart and so deserves this and I know would be a little weight off her shoulders with everything she Is dealing with right now xxxx

My mum is who I'm nominating. She has no time. She works well over her allocated hours at her job in the church office as the Area Presidents secretary, just wanting to help and do her best. Then shes racing down to Hamilton a couple of times a week to care for her parents who have dementia. On top of that she has been stepping in to help me out since becoming a single mum. So making food for herself is something that never happens. This would be awesome for her.

I’d like to nominate my mum and dad. My girl called in to visit her nana after school (yesterday) and came home with the news that they both have a cold. Nana is 85 this year and Dad/Papa will be 80in January. Theyre both still very independent but getting on and perhaps not always eating healthy. This would be a good opportunity for them to try the meals ? malo.

This is a wonderful gift Valerie. Thank you. I would like to nominate my daughter Caroline who has a husband with a long term condition 3 teenagers and a 9 year old boy to care for, plus meeting the needs of feeding this family is a daily challenge helped by their vegetable garden ,preserves ,and home baking. This family would be overwhelmed by such a gift.
