I paint my nails with gel nail polish before setting out on rock climbing trips because gel doesn’t chip. I appreciate colors, creativity, and individual expression. I don’t believe that there is one size fits all. Throughout my career, I know that I’ve been judged for this by people that don’t approve of my looks or lifestyle because it may be perceived as “non-traditional” to some. Strength and femininity are not mutually exclusive. My favorite color is pink, I rock climb professionally, my favorite city is NYC, and I spend most of my days in the mountains playing. In this world, we have the freedom to express ourselves and to define whoever we want to be.
