Well let’s FREE THE TWINS ❤️ Last week I was contacted by adoption staff at BLM Burns corrals about a mare who gave birth to twins. I was overjoyed and of course we said yes to taking them as they are a MIRACLE, and we were told they needed supplements, extra hay and potentially vet care. I drove to the corrals to see them last week and sat in mud, rain and the cold talking to them, telling them that they were getting out and would stay with their mama. I fell in love and thought of all the positives for this family. What better way to show the resilience, strength and endurance of these wild horses than this mother who ran from a helicopter while pregnant, gave birth in the corrals and is nursing two babies. I was then devastatingly informed by rsharp@BLM.gov that the mare Elsa was on a list for the spay study, and instead of coming to us would be subjected to a surgical procedure to see how mares did after having their ovaries ripped out. I cried ugly horrible tears for the life they were being denied and my heart is broken for them. But if we are ever going to take a stand here is where we want to do it - Link is in bio to our website with all the actions to take and our petition and how to comment on the spay study and an application to fill out to adopt Elsa tag no 4702 and her babies to send them to Skydog sanctuary. This mare deserves to stay with her babies forever and run free again. Be polite and respectful if you do make a call.
