Following D-Day, Robert Capa returned to France in late July and continued to document key moments in the Allied forces’ push towards Paris. Often photographing German POWs, Capa also captured wrecked German hardware, the liberated landmark of Mont-St-Michel, the bitter fighting for the port of St-Malo, and the public humiliation of female collaborators by the French Resistance.

We take a closer look at Capa's depictions of the Allied invasion of Northern Europe today on Magnum. Link in bio.
