Photo by Daniella Zalcman @dzalcman | Today marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day, or the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II. Every year, WWII veterans and their descendants flock to these beaches to commemorate the largest seaborne invasion in history, and to honor the estimated 10,000 troops who died. There is also a deeply dedicated community of World War II reenactors who visit every year to participate in living history displays and live battle reenactments. Here, Italian reenactor Pierantonio Farina (in his impression of a U.S. Army war correspondent) sets up a photo on Omaha Beach on June 6, 2014, 70 years after the D-Day landings. #ww2 #sundaysoldiers
