Today marks the 14 year anniversary of "City of Evil." Since its release it has now sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone. It did’t always start off so popular though. After the drastic style change from "Waking the Fallen" many fans were left confused and angered by the new sound. It wasn’t until a certain song hit the radio stations in America that the sentiment began to change. "Bat Country" came out charging and introduced the band to a whole new audience. MTV put it in regular rotation earning the number one spot on TRL for several weeks. "Bat Country" was also the catalyst for Avenged Sevenfold winning "Best New Artist" over Rihanna, Chris Brown and many others at that years VMA’s. We thank everyone for the wild journey we have been on together and hope for many more years to come.

I still have my alternate monotone album cover shirt that came with the preorder ya find in my closet! Y’all were such an influential band for me during my youth. One time, you played a Halloween show in my home town, Baltimore, and there was a contest for the fan club. Carve a pumpkin to put on stage for your set, and you can come back stage to meet A7X. (I think this was 04-05?) And for one reason or another my tickets never showed up from ticketmaster, but I went anyways. I went backstage, met y’all, hung out and had an awesome time, knowing that I might not get into the show. You overheard me talking with another fan club member about it that I had gotten to know through the online fan club site, and y’all got me on the guest list. I was beside myself, never expected it, and never had people look out for me like that. It has meant so much to me for so long, and I just wanted to share that story. Love y’all! Thanks for the awesome music over the years.

So just going to admit and be honest. I haven't listened to a7x in years. Their self titled album was the last album I was interested. Its nothing against them I just simply lost interest...now I just feel attracted to them again and I joined their fan club. I constantly check for concert dates because I do want to see them live and I feel like a concert would be a good way to introduce me to their new stuff. Plus I want to meet other fans. So thank you a7x for doing what you do

I remember not being that into you guys when waking the fallen came out, yet everyone else I was friends with loved it. Then this album came out and I loved it and everyone else hated it...funny how that works. Also this makes me feel old...
