Air Canada is to be avoided if you want to arrive at your destination in a timely manner. Air Canada is to be avoided if you would want an Air Canada representative to speak with.
We arrived at the Indianapolis airport for our flight to Rome connecting in Toronto. The flight to Toronto was delayed because of mechanical difficulty. They said the same thing happened the night before. But no worries, we have a three hour delay, we will make our connection to Rome.
They “fixed it”?! We got on plane, they took us back to the gate. This happened three times. It wasn’t fixed. Thankful they didn’t fly a plane with difficulties though. However, at this point, we would be missing our connection to Rome. Our flight was suppose to leave at 4pm, and we left at 11pm. Our connecting flight to Rome was at 9pm.
There wasn't a representative at the counter in Indianapolis to speak with on what to do. Other airlines representatives gave us the Air Canada number to call. However, we were on hold for over an hour.
When speaking to the Air Canada representative, they couldn’t put us on another airline without authorization from Air Canada. They put me on hold to check with their supervisor. We got disconnected!
My father also called Air Canada and was on hold one hour fifteen minutes. He was speaking to an Air Canada representative and also got disconnected too! Too much of a coincidence that we both were disconnected. I think they hung up because they didn’t want to deal with our situation or didn’t want to authorize any other flights with another airline!
We missed a day in Italy and ended up being stuck in Toronto. We lost days of work, vacation, and our hotel money in Italy.
No Air Canada representative in Toronto airport could help either. We were told to call Air Canada.
I called and spoke with Joe in Toronto. He said we would need to voice our concerns online. There isn’t a customer relations person to speak to.
So, we wrote our concerns online. As of today, no one has contacted us! Anyone reading this should think twice about ever flying Air Canada!
