jordy_6x7 "If women can be railroad workers in Russia, why can't they fly in space?" - Valentina Tereshkova. She flew on Vostok 6 in June 16th, 1963. First woman in space. I feel like people in the west tend to forget about her and only remember Dr. Ride. Every person who has gone to space, and especially those who have died in the pursuit of it, should be remembered all around the world as heroes of humanity as a whole.

A recent visit to KSC shocked me to find so few women in the Hall of Fame; I was also surprised to find that Mae Jemison was not an inductee. But thanks to Sally Ride, things are changing. She was the first. May there be many more amazing women to come the way she paved.
