In the amphitheater of the stars, beneath the Hollywood sky (and under the benevolent gaze of the Queen of Angels, who gave her name to the city), I experienced two memorable evenings, thanks to the more than 35,000 people that I shared them with.
I did not believe that, after a quarter of a century, I could still be so moved and experience the “first time” thrill on the first note, and then pure, indescribable joy, to speak for so many hearts and feel them beat in unison, celebrating the beauty that is intrinsic to great music – together.
Some I know by name, such as the great @ジェイミー・フォックス (with whom I had the honor of sharing the shell of the stage) and I was able to thank them in person. From the others, from the majority, I took in the warmth and emotion, the intimacy of a smile and a shed tear... In any case, I have a name for them too, a common name, which, however, is special and different for each person: “friends”. Companions on the road, friends who I think about with gratitude and affection.
