Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we stand in solidarity with the Tiny House Warriors’ opposition to the Trans Mountain pipeline through British Columbia. Of the 1,150 km of pipeline, 520 km runs through unceded Secwepemc Nation.

By occupying ten tiny houses placed along the pipeline route, the Secwepemc Nation Youth Network are asserting Secwepemc Law and have never provided free, prior and informed consent – the minimum international standard under UNDRIP – for the the Trans Mountain Pipeline Project. Through our Charity Pot charitable giving program, we support this act of resistance and believe the Government of Canada has a duty to consult all First Nations about proposed projects through traditional territory. ✊✊✊
