What happens when you are in bed & your husband wants to make love & it’s not the right time of the month for you, you could get pregnant & you already have babies, perhaps more children than you can afford & more than you can care for. But your husband demands to have sex & you give in perhaps out of fear & in a few weeks you find out that you are pregnant, again. You don’t know how you will cope with another child. How will you financially & emotionally care for another child. You don’t really want this child. This unwanted child will have a hard life as will you & now your other children as well because of this added burden of another human to care for, feed, love. You are tired from all the work & stress it takes to survive with the family you now have. This child might end up being abused even murdered by you or your husband because of the stress of not being able to financially & emotionally care for this child. This is not unusual. This happens frequently in our country. A woman must have the freedom to decide if she wants to be pregnant or not. She must have that freedom because it’s her God given right to bear children, because it’s her body that carries the child & she will be the one who’s life is forever altered by yet another child, that she didn’t really want, to care for until the day she dies.

katherinehunterxx @eileen_raff My point is that many women get pregnant not by choice but because of our male dominated society. Her husband insists on sex whenever he wants it, sometimes by force. The male dominated hierarchy of the church that condemns birth control. She must have the freedom to seek abortion if she’s unable cope emotionally or financially with a child. Countless woman end up pregnant because the men in their lives want sex when they want it with no thought of the consequences. I think we should talk about laws forcing men to have a vasectomy & see how the men in Congress, trying to force anti-abortion laws feel when their very autonomy is threatened.

katherinehunterxx @redchair1010 If the child isn’t wanted because of poverty or because the woman has too many children to emotionally care for & love then the child will have a very sad life. Perhaps even worse. An unwanted child runs the risk of being physically & emotionally abused even murdered by parents who are impoverished & ill equipped to care for that child. In many instance, if a man wants to have sex he’s going to do what it takes & the woman has little to say about it weather he’s her husband or not. That’s how we get so many unwanted pregnancies. Men, husbands overpowering women just to have sex.

copper.tellurium439 @sherrtoughgyal that’s my point because I am in fact looking at this from a legal point of view...which is the point of view everyone should be looking at this with considering we’re talking about MAKING LAWS. But even that aside and even if, as you allege, abortion is murder, you do realize that statistically, making abortion illegal does not cause abortion rates to drop. Making it illegal is only going to decrease how safe abortions are, which is going to increase the number of lives at risk.

katherinehunterxx @eileen_raff Women don’t always have the option to refuse their husbands sexually. And if those women aren’t taking birth control because again, her husband doesn’t want her to or her religion forbids it, and she ends up pregnant & cannot financially or emotionally care for another child that has been forced on her, she must have the freedom to end that pregnancy. An unwanted pregnancy that could ruin her life & the life of the child forever.

nar18 @tonygoldwyn I wish politics would stay off of children too. In California the state government will be square in the middle of the doctor patient relationship if SB276 gets signed into law. Medically fragile children will be forced to be immunized or have to leave school. Medical exemptions will be virtually impossible to get, even if a doctor says it’s unsafe for the child. It’s a sad day all around. Keep politics off of everyone’s bodies 🙏🏻
